The Ostrava Airport will offer a seasonal charter service to Sicily from the beginning of June until the end of September. There will be a free transfer bus from Brno and Olomouc for all passangers with scheduled flights to Catania Sicily. The same service will also be available for passengers returning from their holiday.

After almost seven years, a Boeing 747, nicknamed Jumbo Jet, landed at Ostrava Airport. The American aircraft arrived from Italy’s Bologna to continue to the United States after two days. The last time Ostrava saw a Jumbo Jet on its runway was in September 2004 when fans of English football club Middlesbrough FC arrived for a UEFA Cup match with Ostrava’s Baník.
