The Fire and Rescue Service at Ostrava Leos Janacek Airport has tested newly arrived equipment acquired as part of EU projects. Having received a high-pressure air compressor and a vehicle equipped to respond to oil spills, this time the airport received a special container for aircraft recovery operations, thus becoming the second airport in the Czech Republic after Prague’s Ruzyně with similar facilities. The aircraft recovery equipment cost approximately CZK 13 million with 92.5 percent covered from EU funds.
The airport received the first delivery of the equipment co-funded from the European Union resources within the framework of the Regional Operational Programme NUTS II Moravia Silesia.
