In total, 332,266 passengers used the terminal at Ostrava airport last year for vacation or business travel. Compared with 2006 the growth represented 10%, which reflects the prognosis of the Business Plan. The Plan considers for example, increasing the number of persons passing through Leoš Janácek Ostrava Airport in 2015, up to 1.5 million passengers.

This year we plan the expansion of regular flights from the airport in Ostrava to London, Brussels, Amsterdam and Moscow. The forwarder will be selected on the basis of a tender organized by the Moravian – Silesian region. In the next three years the region wants to support direct connections to twelve new destinations.

Historically, the first flight from Ostrava Leos Janacek Airport to Bangkok will take place on Thursday, 3rd January 2008. The planned departure of the Boeing 737-800 of the company Travel Service is at 21:50. This is a regular route in the winter season which usually operates on the Prague - Muscat (Oman) – Bangkok line, with an intermediate landing in Ostrava. Further passengers will have the opportunity to use this line on the 24th January and 27th March 2008.
